To celebrate the birthday of vodka this weekend, we have compiled some data about one of Latvia’s best-known export brands, the premium vodka Stolichnaya, made right here in Latvia and sold in 150 countries around the world.
Last year more than 25 million liters of Stolichnaya, the third most widely sold premium vodka in the world, were produced by Latvijas balzams, part of Amber Beverage Group. We have been the proud producer of this legendary drink since 1948.
Held in high regard around the world, Stolichnaya® is also Latvia’s most exported vodka. Altogether every year more than 35 million bottles of Stoli are sold worldwide, the biggest markets being the US, Canada, Chile, Austria, Greece, Israel and Lebanon.
Altogether, Latvijas Balzams produced 30.53 million litres of various vodkas last year, including the Stolichnaya® brand. The vodka assortment produced by Amber Beverage Group’s Latvijas Balzams distillery includes 19 vodka brands.
The Stolichnaya brand is also one of the five biggest sellers on the Latvian vodka market, according to data from Nielsen.
According to EUROSTAT figures, vodka was the most exported alcoholic beverage by volume from Latvia in 2014 and in the first half of 2015, leaving behind whiskey and wines.
