The fast-growing global spirits company, Amber Beverage Group (ABG), has announced the roll-out of its keenly anticipated new Rooster Rojo Mezcal expression at Bar Convent Berlin this autumn (Stand 18C32). Initially, the new Mezcal is now being rolled out to Australia, the Baltics, Greece, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the USA.
The company’s stand will focus closely on Rooster Rojo Mezcal, which was first revealed earlier this year, and ABG will also show a selection of other tequilas from the Rooster Rojo range. The launch of the new ultra-premium expression brings to six the number of expressions in the multi-award-winning Rooster Rojo collection:
In addition to the new Mezcal, ABG’s stand at BCB will showcase Rooster Rojo Blanco, Reposado, and Ahumado, each playing a role in the brand’s presentation there. Blanco will be available as a Paloma cocktail serve. Reposado will showcase a cocktail called Rooster’s Pride created by Andy Watson, a Rooster Rojo Tequila Brand Champion who is also the World Bartender of the Year, recently nominated by the International Bartenders Association. Ahumado will be available to taste in its own right and also as a comparison with Mezcal.
The perfect serve for Rooster Rojo Mezcal is neat and at room temperature, and it can also be served in classic Mezcal cocktails. At BCB, Rooster Rojo Mezcal will be served neat and in two cocktails: Oaxacan Maria and Mezcal Mango Margarita.

Each bottle of Rooster Rojo Mezcal is signed by the Maestro mezcalero (the master Mezcal maker), Rodolfo Lopez Juan, to authenticate it. Rooster Rojo Mezcal comes in a dark, opaque, traditional bottle that looks striking and has the practical purpose of protecting the liquid from sunlight. It is a traditionally handmade 100% Espadin Agave Mezcal bottled at 43% ABV to ensure not only exceptional smoothness and drinkability but also a rich taste profile.
The striking bespoke stand design, created for this important launch, features a multi-faceted, stylised red rooster, incorporating niches to display individual Mezcal bottles. This stark, vibrant and contemporary design for the backdrop to the Rooster Rojo bar is softened with a Mexican-inspired artisanal tile design cladding the front of the stand. The whole comes together as a celebration of the ‘red Rooster’ – Rooster Rojo – a symbol of Mexican pride.
