The most flamboyant brand from all of Amber Beverage Group’s (ABG) portfolio, the tequila category front-liner Rooster Rojo® tequila, is now available in the fourth biggest tequila market in the world – Russia, and is meeting new consumers in Scandinavia.
“As consumers strive for quality, the premium tequila market is growing over 15% each year. This is a beneficial fact for our premium and 100% pure agave tequila,” said Mantas Zlatkus, Global Brand Director for Rooster Rojo® tequila. “Our entrance into the Russian market is a very strategic step as Russia has one of the biggest tequila markets globally (2.7 million litres per year), also – white spirits are very popular there and tequila is starting to gain its position as a premium beverage,” Mantas Zlatkus stated.

Our partners in Russia, Altair Group, have already returned with positive consumer feedback on the quality of this Mexican-spirited tequila,” said ABG go-to-market strategist Elena Azhnova. “Also, our partners in Norway, Engelstad Spirits, believe that drinking trends in Norway are going towards quality and there has been a lack of high-quality products in the tequila segment. They see that 100% blue agave tequila is the future. Norwegian bars and restaurants are excited to put Rooster Rojo® in their drinks menus,” says Elena Azhnova.
At the same time, this exceptional 100% blue agave tequila is experiencing distribution growth in the already acquired markets – USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Austria, the Netherlands and the Baltic States. Also, the brand’s international recognition is gaining traction rapidly: for the 6th competition in a row, Rooster Rojo® is showing excellent performance. The latest medals where received from the biggest and most prestigious Wine & Spirits Awards in China, CWSA. 100 judges recognised Rooster Rojo® Reposado as outstanding and high-quality tequila awarding it a Double Gold medal. The Anejo version received the important Gold medal and Rooster Rojo® Blanco got Bronze.
Rooster Rojo® tequila is produced in small batches at the town of Tequila, Mexico, using only 100% blue agave. Carefully crafted by Fabrica de Tequilas Finos Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes Cortes and blended with water that is filtered through real Mexican silver, this beverage results in a perfect combination to deliver excellent quality and authenticity. Rooster Rojo® is the first tequila that employs this technique.
